 Mas is a  Paper property and  Support type Hero. He is very adept at healing allies and boosting their defensive stats.

Background

Mas is first encountered in Company. When he performs for them, his terrible musical abilities horrify  Chris,  Ian, and  Alfred. Ignoring them, however, he continues playing, so caught up in his music that he doesn't notice the monsters he attracts and even attacks the party himself.

Recruitment

 Mas will join you in Windy Wilderness, Company.

Recruiting Mas

After defeating him,  Lord praises his music, causing  Mas to be incredibly grateful and joins the party to follow  Lord. Although  Alfred initially believes that  Lord was making up his appreciation in order to manipulate  Mas, it turns out that  Lord's feelings are genuine.

Trivia

• He is referred to as “Mars” in the game's asset files.
  • This could be a reference to the Roman god of war of the same name^[1].
• All of his skills (somewhat) refer to different real Greek gods:
  •  Hymn for Agnes is the only exception, as it refers to a non-existant god of fire, “Agnes”.
    • This could simply be a mistranslation of “Agni”, the Hindu god of fire^[2].
    • With the release of  Vulcan, the in-game titular god of fire, there are two things to consider; there are multiple gods of the same element / concept, or Agnes and  Vulcan could be one and the same.
  •  Hymn for Zephyrus refers to “Zephyrus”, the god of wind^[3].
  •  Hymn for Demeter refers to “Demeter”, the goddes of harvest^[4].
  •  Hymn for Ares refers to “Ares”, the god of war^[5], the counterpart of Mars.
  •  Hymn to Hermes refers to “Hermes”, the herald of the gods^[6].
